A psilocybin program in Jamaica for executives and founders

A psilocybin program in Jamaica for executives is supervised psilocybin work in a country whose drug law has never listed psilocybin, built around what people who run companies actually need: screening before anything else, privacy that does not depend on other guests, and a schedule that fits a working life. At INLIBRIUM that means six months, three private seven-day residencies in Jamaica, and one client at a time.

Most searches for a psilocybin retreat in Jamaica for CEOs and founders lead to group retreats: a week with other guests, a shared schedule, then a few calls. This page answers the questions founders ask before they go: what Jamaican law does and does not say, what a week there involves, who screens you, and what stays private.

The short answers

The short answers

Is psilocybin legal in Jamaica?

It is not prohibited. Jamaica’s Dangerous Drugs Act, the law that defines the country’s drug offenses, has never listed psilocybin or psilocin, so taking psilocybin mushrooms is not an offense under that Act. That is a narrower statement than “legal” usually suggests: the Ministry of Health and Wellness has approved no psilocybin product, and your own country’s law still applies to you, including when you fly home. Our Jamaica legal reference sets out each law with its source.

Are psilocybin retreats in Jamaica regulated?

Not as psilocybin services. No license is specific to them, and no law sets their screening, dosing or staffing. Tourism businesses need a Jamaica Tourist Board license, which covers accommodation and services, not psilocybin. In practice the standard of care is whatever each provider decides it is, which is why the questions further down this page matter more in Jamaica than in a licensed system.

Why Jamaica?

Because the sessions should take place where they do not break the local drug law, and in Jamaica psilocybin has never been scheduled. That does not mean Jamaica approves or regulates psilocybin; it does neither. So everything a licensed system would require, from psychiatric screening to medical presence during every session, we set as our own standard. How that works for one person is on our private psilocybin program page.

What happens during a week in Jamaica?

Each residency is seven days at a private site, with you as the only client. It includes two psilocybin sessions. Two trained facilitators stay in the room for the whole of each one, and a dual board-certified nurse practitioner is physically on site throughout the residency, including during every session. The days in between are spent on one-to-one work with your psychologist, health expert and coach, somatic practice such as yoga, breathwork, meditation and massage, and time in nature.

What if something goes wrong medically?

Resuscitation equipment is kept on site, a hospital in Montego Bay is about 10 km away, and escalation pathways are agreed before you arrive. A local physician is available in Jamaica, and our neurologist and clinical psychologist are reachable at all times.

Who screens you before you travel?

Screening comes before any decision, and before you travel. It has two parts: a psychiatric screening, a questionnaire followed by an interview with a psychiatrist, and a medical review of bloodwork, cardiovascular and renal markers, blood pressure, health history and every medication and supplement you take. Some people are declined at this stage. The full criteria are on our safety and screening page.

How private is it?

The residencies take place at a private full-service site rather than a hotel, retreat center or shared facility. There is no reception, no other guests and no public booking record. Every member of staff, from the clinical team to the facilitators and the on-site staff, signs a non-disclosure agreement that does not expire. What we cannot control is what you tell people yourself, or what someone concludes from your calendar. More on our confidentiality page.

How much time does it take away from work?

Three seven-day residencies over six months. Around them sit about 50 to 60 online one-to-one sessions with your three core experts, roughly two a week, designed to run alongside a working life. The program begins before you travel, with the eligibility assessment and a full testing panel, and ends with the panel measured again.

Can you bring psilocybin home from Jamaica?

Not legally to most countries. Jamaica’s law stops at its border. Psilocybin is a Schedule I controlled substance under US federal law, a Class A drug in the UK, and a Schedule III substance in Canada. Do not pack it.

A group retreat in Jamaica or a private program: what changes for a founder

A group format is not wrong for everyone. It is a different product. More on why breakthroughs fade and what holds.

  1. Who else is there

Group retreat: other guests, usually strangers. Ours: no other clients at any point.

  1. What happens before you travel

Group retreat: often a questionnaire. Ours: a psychiatric interview and a medical review, then a full testing panel.

  1. Who has signed what

Group retreat: staff, sometimes. Ours: every member of staff, under a non-disclosure agreement with no expiry.

  1. What happens after you fly home

Group retreat: a few calls. Ours: weekly psychotherapy and health calls and coaching every second week, across the six months.

Five questions to ask any provider in Jamaica

Jamaican law sets no standard for screening, dosing or staffing, so ask. A serious provider answers each one specifically, and in writing if you ask. For the full checklist, see how to choose a psychedelic retreat.

  1. Who screens me, and what rules someone out?

Ours: a psychiatrist interviews you, and a medical review covers bloodwork, cardiovascular and renal markers and every medication.

  1. Who is in the room, and for how long?

Ours: two trained facilitators for the whole of every session, and a dual board-certified nurse practitioner on site throughout the residency.

  1. How far is the nearest hospital, and what is on site?

Ours: resuscitation equipment on site and a hospital in Montego Bay about 10 km away.

  1. Who else will be at the site?

Ours: no other clients and no other guests.

  1. What happens after I fly home?

Ours: weekly psychotherapy and health calls and coaching every second week, with the same three experts, across the six months.

How to start

1. A private conversation. An unhurried call with the founders about where you are and what you are looking for. No pitch, no pressure. Pricing is discussed here.

2. The eligibility assessment. The psychiatric screening and medical review described above. Some people are declined.

3. Your program begins. Your testing panel and first sessions start online, and your first residency in Jamaica is scheduled.
